to pause (v): interrupt action or speech briefly.
a pause (n): a temporary stop in action or speech.
When we are un-rushed and escape into a place away from our day-to-day life, we pause. When we briefly interrupt the normal or temporarily stop the normal routines of life, we pause.
Eremos Acres is an invitation to pause. Come, take an Eremos.
a Purpose to Pause.
Life presents many reasons to pause and be with God. Take the example of Jesus. Jesus would withdraw to a solitary place to pray with his Father God. The solitary place in the original greek text of the Bible is "eremos" meaning a wilderness or quiet place. It is from Jesus's example that the property of Eremos Acres took shape and received its name. It is by Jesus's example that a pause gains its purpose-- to connect and draw near to God.
A pause is a purposeful time of BEING, not doing! A pause includes and is not limited to: solitude, scripture reading, silence, prayer, nature walks, floats, fishing, sitting, jogging, exploring, fasting or feasting, painting, sipping coffee slowly, sitting, sleeping, journaling, inductive study, and so on. As you can see, a pause can take many forms -- what does rest look like for you? Start your pause there and let Eremos Acres provide the where.
A pause can be just for you and God, or for you and your spouse to re-calibrate your position and relationship with God , or for you and a child to experience God's love and nearness together, or for you and a spiritual friendship to grow in prayer and dependence on God. There are many reasons relationships can benefit from "pausing" from the normal. Many times, relationships need to break away from the normalcy of life to feel refreshed, unified and purposeful. Eremos is here for whatever "break away" you need --in solitude or with another close relationship.
Though many purposes, Eremos Acres is "a place to pause." and abide in God's love for you.
